I put the Casino Royale DVD Region 1 in my drive, started gxine, clicked
on File/DVD and crashed immediately.

Hi Darren;
My apologies for not providing additional information regarding this
bug. I'm a newbie to Linux and Ubuntu, and hence is having just a bit
of difficulty doing what what comes naturally to those who have a bit
more experience.
While I was attempting to fill out the bug report I didn't
Completely groundless guess due to the fact that there's no attached
file where clearly there was meant to be one...
The backtrace, as is usual for (number plucked out of thin air) 99% of
"gxine bugs" reported here, points somewhere in libxine1.so, which means
that this is in fact a xine-lib bug.
