2. The upgrade solved the problem, both Eclipse(not that in edgy) and XGL work
now fine.

Can you tell us a bit more about the XGL crash? Does it happen every
time? What are the steps to reproduce it? If it is reproducible does the
problem go away if you upgrade to xserver-xgl
7.2.0.git.20070224-0ubuntu3 or later?

compiz related). However Java programs crashing XGL itself is another.
