I completely agree with Robert Cole and I am sad to see that this bug is
still not resolved in 12.04 Beta 1.
I would like to emphasize the importance of fixing this bug. It makes it

For right now, the solution in Unity 3D is to use Compiz eZoom. That
said, there is Bug 762699 about the fact that eZoom currently does not
magnify Unity elements (launcher, dash, etc.). So if Bug 762699 is
fixed, that will fix this bug for Unity 3D.
