Thanks for the reply. But I had to downgrade back to 10.04 because I needed
the sound to work. I had upgraded to 10.10 from 10.04, then immediately
upgraded to 11.04. So I don't know if the sound worked at 10.10 either. I
have another older laptop that I can try to reproduce the problem on,
I see you upgraded from 10.10 where audio was working. Could you plesae
try booting from an 1.04 live CD and testing whether sound works?
