It is supported but Unity in 10.10 is not because in Ubuntu-11.04
unity was written from scratch as a compiz plugins and we don't have
the resources to maintain two code bases

Corrupt launcher in Unity on Maverick with ATI Radeon HD 3400
This bug was initially reported for Ubuntu 10.10 in which the version of
Unity is not supported anymore. If anyone else sees similar corruption
in Ubuntu-11.04 please report a new bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug
unity'

Got the same on Natty and open source radeon driver. Strange white lines
on launcher or panel.
