gmplayer
Looking at the difference in the outputs above, it appears that "mplayer" used
the "xv" driver while "gmplayer" used the "ws" driver.
When I checked the "preferences" in gmplayer, the video driver was set to
"gl2" - this is the config that creates the error. I changed the video driver
of "gmpl
When I try to play the same file using "mplayer" instead of "gmplayer",
everything works well.
The problem seems to lie only with "gmplayer".
Here is the console output of "mplayer" with exactly the same ".mkv" file :
[mkv] Track ID 1: audio (A_AC3), -aid 0, -alang und
[mkv] Track ID 2: vid
Repeated a fragment of my first message which was easy to miss among
all the automatically generated info:
This is a new development after I updated Kubuntu. I believe the update to
one of these packages broke it:
libpcsclite1
or
ntpdate rsync tzdata xserver-common xserver-xorg-core
