Why closing? Sure it's obsolete, but 11.04 is still supported by you
guys. That means you should give support, in this case fixing the
problem.

Clean install of natty x64 here. I do not use evolution. However, at
each logon, the ~/.local/share/evolution folder and /addressbook,
/calendar sub-directories are created if they do not exist. I must have
deleted it at some point when cleaning up my home directory and had lost
all the info in "ab
Yeah, you're right. This is a pretty basic feature accessible from the
default desktop. It simply should not be broken for a final release, so
I don't think the importance should be Low.

Please fix this as this is really annoying. All the info I had is now
gone. I usually populate this stuff even though it's not really being
used from anywhere that I can think of. But seeing it gone now reminds
me of how fragile Ubuntu Linux desktops really are... It looks like

I don't understand. Why wasn't this an issue before Natty? My About Me

Also, I cannot confirm Holger63's report on this fresh Natty install.
There is no Evolution folder in .local/share/, so there is nothing to
delete. If I do what he says, I
Speaking for those of us who don't like or use Evolution, can't this be

I can also confirm the workaround. My suggestion is to make the "About
me" application work like Evolution's address book: if there's no system
address book, create one.

The problem is a missing system-address-book in evolution.
I made a fresh Natty-install on my notebook. The folder
~/.local/share/evolution/addressbook was completely empty. When filling out the
about-me-box, the program can't find the system-address-book and creates a
temporary address-book ins

I have tested this on 3 machines, all upgraded from Maverick to Natty,
all having more or less the same setup.
The "about me" box doesn't remember its contents on one machine, but
works properly on the 2 other ones. Don't know why, however.
