Ti
Marc Nozell, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This
bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently.
We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please capture

I upgraded to the current kernel 2.6.38-10-generic before sending the
apport info. I see the same bad behavior with the new kernel as well.

** Description changed:
Upgraded my hp2133 notebook from maverick to natty. Now the system hangs
about 2 minutes after wifi is enabled.
Turning off wifi in NetworkManager allows the system to run, albeit without
wireless.
SOLVED this problem for me, try this:
Go to System - Administration - Users And Groups - Account type -
Change... - Set rights for use wireless network.
Sorry for my English.

I hit the same problem after an upgrade to Natty and also from a fresh
install of Natty. I suspect it may have something to do with the display
driver as the wireless driver and display seem to be linked on the
hp2133.

So it's not fixed in 2.6.39. You should also try the even newer drivers
from http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download (the ones from the
section "Where to download bleeding edge").

Tried linux-image-2.6.39-999-generic_2.6.39-999.201104191714_i386.deb
from from 2011-04-19-natty and had the same bad behavior.
There is only an amd64 kernel in the 2011-04-28-oneiric and this laptop is i386
(VIA C7-M Processor 1200MHz
actually)
Haven't tried the suggestions in wireless.kernel.
Could you test whether this bug also happens with a newer 2.6.39 kernel:

or
