I think this is related to an old bug, the harcoded width and the impossibility
to choose guake default screen (like in Yakuake) :(
Try to modify as root /usr/lib/guake/guake.py, line 817
(get_final_window_rect()), "width = 100", to something like "width = 80".

+1 on this bug, even is launcher is in auto-hide mode, when I press F12,
it appears pushed to the right, if I press ctrl+shift+t it opens new
tab, and guake gets back to its place, but again if you press F12 to
disappear and reappear, it rolls out in a wrong place so I have to
alt+right click the w
