I am having the same problem. The delay can be anything between 5-10
seconds and happens when I click the Ubuntu logo, or use the super
button. It hasn't been displaying this behaviour for long.

I do have the problem with alt F1 but not with alt F2, with was the summary of
the original bug report.
Alt F1 is taking more than a minute, something to do with mounted volunes over
network, amount of files in folders?
