Have both issues. The workaround for the second hand 15 second jump
back on my system is to turn the animation smoothness all the way down
to rough.

I just upgraded to natty and the second hand in the clock is jumping
back and forward about 15 secs every second and the clock face and rim
are flickering. I also see the resize gripper to the lower right.

too, with cairo-clock version 0.3.4-1ubuntu1.
