This problem seems to have re-emerged. I am on Ubuntu 16.04 using
LibreOffice Fresh 5.2.4.2 from the LO packaging team (PPA). I will
report the issue over there.

This happens to me too. I think that this is trigged when I open Firefox
if libreoffice is opened fullscreen. Then unity doesn't hide until I
close libreoffice. It stays on even if I change desktop.

Hello all, is there any update to this issue? Could it be assigned
please? Is it going to be fixed in Oneiric? It's extremely annoying.
Note this does not just happen when libre is maximised. Even a un-
maximized window causes this and you have to close libre to get the
panel to respond again.

This affects me as well. I have to close all LibreOffice windows in
order to regain normal unity behaviour. However, this does not happen
every time.

Still affects Unity 3.8.10-0ubuntu2 on an updated Natty. (Upgrade from Maverick)
Reproducable.
Libreoffice normal window, maximize with button, then view -> fullscreen.
Libreoffice normal window, drag to fullscreen.
Result: Panel never autohides.
