sounds like mvo's fix in 3.1.26.5 does the trick, so it looks like we

If that bug is reproducable for you, could you please run the following in a
terminal window (e.g. gnome-terminal):
strace -f -e trace=execve -s1024 ./software-center
2>/tmp/software-center-strace.log
then trigger the crash and attach the /tmp/software-center-strace.
