I confirm this bug on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04, `gnome- terminal-2.30.2-0ubuntu`. I was switching back from Chromium to Firefox, but Gnome Terminal kept opening Chromium windows. It affects also Pidgin and some other Gnome applications. - System -> Preferences -> Preferred Applications have no effect -
