also enabled the Bottom-Left screen corner to reveal the launcher (which
makes it easier to target the trash), instead of just the left screen
edge. Whether this should be considered a valid case or not, I am not
sure.

Left pixel of launcher is not click
Hello, the bug seems to be still there in 3.8.14 in Natty. As in the bug
description, the lefmost pixel of the launcher is not clickable until
the launcher is hidden at least once. Here is the output of xprop:
$ unity --version
unity 3.8.14
$ xprop
_NET_WM_ALLOWED_ACTIONS(ATOM) = _NET_WM_ACTION_AB

if I xprop on it, it seems to be the compiz "edge" detection eating
mouse click:
