Unable to change mouse cursor theme and size

chance the theme in terminal with:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme
worked for me (after logging out and back in)
But if ubuntu wants to be userfriendly this bug definetly has do has to
be fixed!

Note that the bug was fixed in previous ubuntu versions...
It seems that it has to do with unity BUT if you login using classic desktop
the problem remains..

I have just tested firefox with the problem, you're right. It does show
up (DMZ-Black) over firefox but reverts to the default everywhere else.

I've noticed the same thing. However, the icon theme I changed to from
default shows up in Firefox but it reverts back to the default (DMZ-
White) basically everywhere else (e.g. nautilus, when hovering over the
Unity panel, etc.)
