Sorry for the delayed response: I had the issue with both the version
from the main repository as well as daily builds from the PPA. However,
I have not checked the daily builds in sometime. When I get back to my
Ubuntu machine I'll check to see if the issue still exists and update
here.

This is weird, are you using gwibber from a ppa repository or release
included in main repositories? I am running gwibber 3.0.0.1-0ubuntu1 but
I am still unable to confirm this problem.
