well, I guess this will be resolved by the ssl lib soname change
mentioned in another bug.

There were alot of reauests to add ff2 to dapper but we couldnt there
would have been too many problems. ssl seems to be one of them. so we
couldnt backport it. the backports are there to get new packages from
devel ubuntu. the safest way to upgrade to ff2 is using
https://help.ubuntu.com/community
mixing Edgy and dapper repos is not supported and extreamly dangerous.

I never thought Edgy repository is 3rd party.

3rd party apps are not supported. there is a reason firefox 2.0 hasnt
been released for dapper in any repo. there are certain things we can
not backport for stablilty reasons. Im rejecting this bug as ff2.0 was
never in dapper.

I only pointed aptitude to the new repo. Is that not supported?
If not then this is not a problem, technically.

What version of ubuntu are you using. 1.5 was in dapper and 2.0 was only
in edgy so unless you upgraded to edgy or used a 3rd party repo you
couldnt have just used aptitude to upgrade it.
