Redid the installation with 5GB allocated for /. This time, the
installation went fine also with internet update during install time and
with 3rd party software installation enabled. A couple of days and a
couple of normal updates later, things still seem fine, so I guess this
bug can be closed.

I uchecked the automatic installation of 3rd party software and the
internet update during installation and managed to complete. The system
restart after finish halted, though, so I had to force-quit the VM.
After starting it up again, it seemed to work fine, though, and a normal
update completed w
