Marc Legris, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
This should be fixed in the upstream 3.5-rc5 kernel.

Occurs in HP-Pavilion-g6 with Precise (2D )as well for me whereby the
system does not resume with any key presses. The only way to recover is
by hard- rebooting.

Issue is resolved in maverick by installing the nvidia driver through
jockey or installing nvidia-current.

Title:
Issue is present on Lucid, but not on Natty. I am unable to access
console on the fail resumes, and I do not observe any blinking caps lock
keys.

This is indicative of a kernel crash.
If not is possible that you just weren't returned to the X environment.
