This bug seems to be still active in both linux-image-2.6.20-9-i386 and
linux-image-2.6.20-generic.
With both images boot failes with RAID1 root. Updating initramfs doesn't
seem to have any effect on this.

command line in grub. Then, I hit Ctrl+D and it boots right. It works
for 2.6.19 and 2.6.20.
If I remove quiet=n or break=mount, it just breaks like before.
I think there is an issue wi

Ben> actually this is sda2 and sdb2 on my system ... And there is
nothing in my mdadm.conf to tell about sda and sdb.

If you used the via82cxxx in edgy, then your drives were hda2 and hdb2,
right?
More than likely you need to tell mdadm that you are using sda and sdb
now. Check /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf.
I suggest instead of device names, you use the UUID symlinks in
/dev/disk/by-uuid/, so instead of /dev/sdb, you w
