Same problem here. Linux-image package doesn't work, skype package
doesn't work. In fact nothing ever worked so far for me.
And that's the same on my three Natty computers.

Trying to install .deb files Software-center starts the installation
process, but then cancels. The "install" button doesn't change and the
package isn't installed. So i have to use dpkg -i to install
