I can also confirm this as a bug.
My solution was to install libxine1 from
http://archive.aardvarque.com/ubuntu/misc/pool-dapper/ .
I believe this program should be put in as default in Dapper.

I've since reinstalled it via command line so I can't duplicate the
problem anymores.

Thank you for the bug report. Can you please attach the files in
/var/log/dist-upgrade. We need the full files to figure out what
happened. I would rather not close this bug if i can avoid it because
this is a problem we would need to fix.

This bug can be removed, I never figured it out,
but uninstalling everything xorg related and reinstalling it with edgy fixed
it.
