Sound recorder disables the capture device after a second
Same behavior for me, hda intel on macbook (core 2 duo) using feisty up
to date.
More than this, recording does never work, nor the first time.
In gnome-sound-record I have tried both mux and capture as input source.
On volume-control the only mic that is turned off is the one of capture, mux

maybe this could help: when i run gnome-volume-control from a console, i
get this output:
** (gnome-volume-control:16660): CRITICAL **: gst_mixer_get_volume:
assertion `volumes != NULL' failed
this is being repeated endless while app is running.

* click on record from gnome-sound-recorder
* click on stop
* click on record from gnome-sound-recorder
The second time around, the sound is muted when I press record.

Could you describe the steps you use to get the issue? When doing that
on my feisty desktop (the gnome-media package has not changed since
edgy):
* run gnome-sound-recorder
* open gnome-volume-control (or alsamixer)
* click on record from gnome-sound-recorder

In fact the problem appears to occur only the *second* time through. It
also appears when I use CD quality. Pressing "record" also switches the
input to "Capture 2" in the input selection box.
I am using Edgy Eft, so gnome-sound-recorder 2.16.1.
