I can confirm that this affects feisty as well as edgy, an annoying bug
that doesn't provide any feedback to the user about what is happening or
why it happened.

This still happens with Feisty, abiword hangs completely. The desired
result would be a "plugin missing for files of type ODT, download from
here: etcetc" not just a total lock-up requiring a kill.

OpenDocument plugin should be shipped with Abiword, not -plu
Side note: abiword consumes according to top about 99 percent of CPU
while trying to open error.odt.
