I had this problem while trying to transfer some very large (around
20GB) .avi files to my external harddisk.

cornelius, thank you for your interest to that problem fixed. You are
commenting on a problem which has nothing to do with your though, the
backtraces look totally different. If you are not sure of facing the
same bug better to open a new bug and let the bugsquad manage it to not
create confusing o
All right, this is due to the destination disk being formatted as FAT32
(factory default) which doesn't allow files larger than 4GB. nautilus
should detect this case and warn me before it starts copying any files
(if there are multiple ones) instead of crashing.

Ok, the problem is a file of size > 4GB. It crashes after copying
exactly 4.0 GB.

Had a similar crash while copying GBs of files from one external
harddisk to another (crash report attached). I installed nautilus-dbg
afterwards but I haven't experienced the crash after that.
