I have a workaround. Now instead of using grepmail, I'm using Mutt to
delete the read messages via IMAP:
mutt -f imap://localhost/mail/bulk-incoming -e 'push ~R'
So, maybe this bug now doesn't affect anyone, and isn't work fixing.
