Finally realized what the relationship/tie was with the local NTFS
volume. The root of that drive was one of my NFS exports.

I don't think this is a dupe of bug 716811. That bug seems to have been
fixed before kernel 2.6.38-5 was released, and I'm having the above
symptoms on my non-Sandy-Bridge i980x system.
