Well either way bad EXIF data should not crash nautilus. Could you
please upload a picture that has the EXIF data that will crash nautilus
so we can get this bug reproduced and sent upstream? Thank you.

OK, the problem seems to be EXIF rather than the size.
If I run
exiftool -all:all=
on the affected file, the properties open just fine.
