Well, I would say that this issue and 878070 are the same thing. Both
should be resolved by updating the grub in Lucid.

Unfortunately 1.98's debug logs are not very good (read: hopeless) in
this area. Could you tell me as much as you can about your disk layout?

I was asked for information about this issue and I provided it. Then
nobody does anything with the information and the bug expires???
What is the point of me filing a bug and providing requested information
if the requester is just going to ignore it and then the bug is going to
[Expired for grub2 (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]
