Today I wanted to use hyphenation with a German text (German installation) and
wasn't successful.
After digging the problem I found the following out:

The original issue I reported, marked as a duplicte of this one, was
about such packages being missing.
Proper language support is restored for the corresponding language if
one installs language-support-writing-*. I believe when someone installs
