regarding you aren't using Ubuntu. For future reference you can manage

This bug was reported nearly 3 years ago and generated very little
interest since then. Debian has replaced Ubuntu on said laptop and I'm
therefore not in a good position to provide anymore information
regarding this bug. Sorry.

I'm experiencing this issue on a Lenovo U160 (Intel GMA HD) running Xubuntu
11.04 instantly after closing the lid. The lid close action is set to "do
nothing". Afterwards I have to hard reboot.
