I am experiencing the same problem. Samsung N150 will sleep but not

I just verified this by installing 2.6.38-999-generic kernel. Sleep and
wake-up works fine. Brightness control keys are recognized (Gnome shows
that brightness is being changed), but the actual screen brightness
doesn't change.

I updated my N150 this afternoon with the latest kernel update
(including the one from Voria) and I can say that the bug is still
there. I cannot come back from suspend. Sorry!

With the latest kernel update, resuming from suspend works (as does adjusting
brightness via Fn-keys). BUT: Hibernates disappears as an option from the
indicator. I don't care much about that, though, since suspend/resume is much
more important on a netbook.

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
