In feisty, I have this problem on an IBM Thinkpad x31. It is due to the lack of the ide-cs driver from the stock ubuntu kernel in my case. I must say I find it tedious compiling a custom kernel to use a CF reader. I see no reason why this module is not included. -- Built-in compact flash reader n
