Yep, this is an absolute must. In fact, dare I say one of the reasons I
personally prefer Unity over Gnome-Shell is the increased ability to
configure things. Unity should pride itself on it's ability to allow
users to personalise it, if they choose.

One perspective I'd like to add on the configurability or lack thereof
of the launcher panel is that for those with triple head systems, it'd
be great to be able to place one on the middle screen.
At the moment with Gnome 2, I have top panels on each monitor with the

left panel if for, but it is combined with a window switcher.
