After the latest kernel upgrade, to 2.6.38-3, this now seems to work. It
worked partially in -2, but with graphical glitches so that I had to
reboot anyway.

I will try to find the time for this during the weekend. For now I
should note that the latest kernel from Ubuntu (.37.12) fails to bring
up X properly. I am wondering if this is due to some issues I had when
installing that though.
