This package is now called python-gv and does not have this problem. If
the problem resurfaces, please reopen this bug.

I have the same problem, although my problem is broader. Not only is
the symbolic link /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.6/_gv.so incorrect, but it
appears that package libgv-python was built against libgvc.so.4, whereas
the version installed on my system (from packge libgraphviz4) is
/usr/lib/libgvc.so.6
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
