The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

The 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached it's end of
life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft
kernel task.

better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you in the latest
kernel in Hardy?
Also, how is you keyboard connected? Bluetooth?

Looks like rebooting with the pre-upgrade kernel ( 2.6.15-27-386 #1
PREEMPT Sat Sep 16 01:51:59 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux) sidesteps this
problem.

On approximately one reboot in every five, after upgrading to 6.10, there are
no keyboard functions available.
The login screen appears, but I can't type in a username.
There is no console access via ctrl-alt-F1 either.
All I can do is reboot (via the mouse.)
