Chmmr, nouveau can run unity, but it requires libgl1-mesa-dri- experimental to be installed. Word of warning this segfaults on some cards, like newer macbooks. Installing that, then restarting X might work, not sure. Forgot about that, sorry. -- You received this bug notification because you are

Ok, I've found out a bit. Yes, for some reason my system is falling back to software rendering. Also, the problem of the shell not working only happens when using a secondary login (and by typing 'unity' in a terminal, it does bail appropriately and load Gnome panel and such). It looks like this i
