1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next respon
I installed the latest release (Ubuntu 7.04, Feisty Fawn, Kernel
2.6.20-16 generic) on my Thinkpad R40e (type 2684-54G, Celeron)
yesterday and I still have the same problem.

Just a small notice:
I no longer have the Thinkpad R40e laptop. I sold it to a friend. Now I have
a slightly newer laptop, an IBM Thinkpad R40 type 2723-BAG. This is a
Centrino-machine, and I'm glad to tell it has none of the problems reported in
this bug.

I can confirm this bug for my ThinkPad r40e, type 2684-54G. I have the latest
bios version 1.38, released on 2005/11/28.
uname -r returns a "2.6.17-10-generic". I get the exact same behaviour as
described in the first post.
I would like to know how to get the laptop to resume after a "suspend to
