Perhaps this only shows for newly created users and starts working after
a while - surely not just restarting evolution or even rebooting the
system. I am on vacation now and have no good network connection, when
I'll be back next week I'll check this in detail.

It's working now. Strange ... it wasn't working the other day :/
Given the number of open bugs I'll close this for now and open it up if this
functionality decides not to work.

that feature to the preferences dialog? To what contacts list do you add
them?

Sorry I forgot to explain better the "main" bug, well, automatic
contacts are NEVER added, I tried to disable the plugin, close
evolution, reopen it, re-enable the plugin, close evolution, open, reply
to a mail, but NO contacts, if you need more info tell me how to produce
that, but I suppose every
