I'm not sure this bug is the same as the one you have. Your bug is
giving an error when writing tags, whereas this bug successfully writes
invalid tags.
- Can you open a new bug and describe exactly what about the tags you changed
when saving them again, and pretty much every step lead

Confirm that: after trying to update ID3v2.4 tags of files previously sent via
MTP Easytag encounters input/output error, and only ID3v2.3 can be written in
this case.

I confirm: with id3V2.4 the mp3 checker "mp3diags" complains, and my
Nokia N81 and a Samsung Y2-P2 player do not show the album art.
@matus: thanks! Installing easytag (and not easytag-aac) and switching
to id3v2.3 solves the problem in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty).

please remove easytag-aac which you probably have, and install easytag.
Easytag standalone do not allow you to change id3v2.4 to id3v2.3. When
you install easytag, go to preferences and change tag to id3v2.3, your
media hardware should have no more problems with reading cover of album.

Hi Jmadero, how did you change easytag to id3v2.3? Mine says in the
about-extensions dialog box that id3v2.3 writing support is disabled,
but I can't see how to enable it. thanks.

they are all mp3's, it seems like it's a common problem for the ID3 v
2.4 as i have found a lot of forums with people complaining about it.
Not sure if ID3 is still being developed or not
