Hi all. Just confirming the same -- Gnome (X?) crashes, GDM restarts,
and then I presented with a login screen.
A runaway "gnome-panel" process drains the CPU and I have to kill it
every time.

We're are also having this problem in a machine.

We're seeing this in connection to a sudden session crash; garbage is
shown in screen and after some seconds gdm appears with log

After resuming from suspend, in kern.log I got:
workrave[1484]: segfault at 3f8b8050 ip 034f25f8 sp b6e01f10 error 4 in
libc-2.12.1.so[34c3000+157000]
I got the gdm log in screen and found out that gdm restarted and none of
my apps' statuses were saved.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privile
