If I replace UUID=aa0d5abd-d307-426b-8791-1609f16a4d11 none swap sw 0 0 by /dev/hda6 none swap sw 0 0 , I can use swapon -a But I remind me that I did it once, and after a reboot, it didn't haveany effect... I'll verify it asap -- [Edgy]Swap isn't mounted while booting https://launchpad.net/bugs

Hello I've seen exactly the same problem since upgrading to edgy from Dapper (machine is a T43 IBM laptop). When the machine boots it complains that the swap partition (in my case /dev/sda10) is not in the correct format, formating using the command mkswap -v1 /dev/sda10 and swapon -a enables swa
