That's a definite possibility. According to the bugzilla report, there
is a code fix in the 2.6.20 kernel stream; any chance you could test
this with Feisty (warning, development release, backup all valuable data

Try removing psmouse module from the kernel before halt nad reboot (add
'modprobe -r psmouse' to halt and reboot scripts) - that fixes a lot of
ACPI problems.
