pps files play with music in 10.04 using kernel 2.6.32-26 and OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 After upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 with kernel 2.6.35-22 ALL sound was racing and fragmented. A bug was lodged and Daniel Chen advised to download the nightly snapshot of the alsa-driver relevant to that kernel.
