I also see this very frequently. The only remedy that works is to run
"evolution --force-shutdown" and to restart evolution. Often also the
outlook calendars and adress books go away.

Yes, I have it happen to me multiple times during the day. It is very,
very, very frustrating.
oh, and I'm running Intrepid. So it's still there too.

There's the potential that your dot file was corrupted. Does this still
happen on Hardy?

funny thing is, when i deleted ~/.evolution folder, evolution on both
computers worked again.
but then again, deleting a .*** folder is not an obvious solution for
most of the users.
