Okay, I formated and installed Edgy Beta. I am in it right now, and my
Broadcom eth0 is working again, so something must have changed since
Knot 3. It appears my wireless is alive too...though it doesn't show up
with 'ifconfig', it does show up with 'ifconfig -a' or 'iwconfig.' So

I'm inclined to believe this is simply local to your system:
1) You did not get linux-restricted-modules in your upgrade. This would
cause 3945 to not work. Run "sudo apt-get install linux-generic"
2) You need to move your bcm43xx firmware to /lib/firmware/ (and not in
some version specific subdi
There's no indication of any problems in the logs - both your wireless
and your ethernet are found by the kernel. What precise problem are you
having? What does
sudo ifconfig -a
show?
