Failed to boot...not 'cause of ahci problems though.
Probably my own...
It MUST be the 2.6.17 kernel's fault, because Dapper does the same
probing without timeout, nor does other distros with a diff. ver. of
kernel

I compiled kernel 2.6.18 from sources. Now i haven't this problem.
This problem is caused by kernel 2.6.17 (ahci drivers?).

I got this problem too
It can be a kernel problem, or upstart's problem,
since I've only experienced it with Edgy (flight2, beta, rc) and Mandriva
2007(uses 2.6.17 kernel)...
