But i notice the problem of truncated links. and those do not copy over
to OpenOffice Writer.
Could you provide another example?

But the problem is with Evolution, not Firefox. I can copy/paste the
long URL into an OpenOffice Writer document, and when I use the link
from that, Firefox properly opens to the eBay page for the example that
I gave.
